Gresley Colliery Band Welcomes New Musical Director

Gresley Colliery Band is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Windle as its new Musical Director, following the departure of Craig Stevens.

Richard brings a wealth of experience to the role, having established himself as a highly accomplished trombone player with a distinguished career performing in top-level brass bands. His extensive musical knowledge and leadership skills will play a vital role in shaping the band’s future and continuing its proud tradition of excellence.

Speaking about his appointment, Richard said: “I’m thrilled to join Gresley Colliery Band and look forward to working with such a talented group of musicians. Together, we aim to build on the band’s strong heritage and achieve new successes.”

Chair of Trustees, Matt Pope, added: “We are excited to welcome Richard to the Gresley Colliery Band family. His experience and passion for brass band music will be invaluable as we look to the future. We’re confident that under his direction, the band will continue to thrive and achieve great things.”
