Gary Wyatt

Gary Wyatt Gary Wyatt was born in Evesham, Worcestershire. After his family moved to the North West of England his father became a prominent figure with the Fairey Band. Gary joined the military where he continued his musical studies. Then, after several successful years with HM Band of the Coldstream Guards his transfer to the Royal Air Force in 1988 culminated with the post of Principal Cornet of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force.

Gary has played with several top class brass bands over the years however his position as Co-Principal Cornet with the Desford Colliery Band remains his favourite. After retiring from the Royal Air Force Gary became a brass tutor within Lincolnshire Music Service whilst continuing to deliver educational workshops across the country.

Gary’s conducting career spans the last 15 years with many successes with Southern and Midlands based bands. He studied conducting with Ian Lowes and Mark Heron whilst serving in the RAF which culminated in successful completion of his Bandmasters Course gaining the LRSM conducting Diploma.
